I recently ran across a reel on Instagram that I took a screenshot of in a moment of silliness and have found myself reading it over and over this week. I figured I may as well share it with my communuty during Pride Month, as a small reminder, I suppose.
How To Respect Yourself So Others Start Respecting You Too
- Set clear boundaries and enforce them.
- Speak kindly to yourself, even in tough moments.
- Stop seeking validation from others.
- Prioritize your needs without guilt.
- Say “no” when something doesn’t serve you.
- Walk away from toxic relatioinships.
- Invest time in your personal growth.
- Hold yourself accountable in your actions.
- Keep your promises to yourself.
- Practice self-care regularly.
- Demand honesty in all of your relationships.
- Stand up for your beliefs and values.
- Don’t settle for less than you deserve.
- Take responsibility for your happiness.
- Celebrate your achievements, big or small.
- Stop apologizing for being yourself.
- Maintain a healthy work-life balance.
- Stay consistent in how you treat yourself.
- Surround yourself with supportive people.
- Walk away from situations that compromise your peace.
I suppose I am at an age where being myself means loving myself, truly and as is. My wish for you is that you do, too.
Love, Always.
